On October 21-22, the first international debate tournament "Speak Up: AIDS" was held in Almaty with the participation of students from universities of CIS countries.

  Participants of the tournament are students of the largest universities of RK: KIMEP, KBTU, KazNITU, KazNU, ENU, as well as more than 300 students from Russia, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. The main judge of the tournament is the "Best Speaker of the World 2017" titleholder Raffi Marshall (Oxford). Format: British Parliamentary. Official languages: Kazakh, English and Russian. During the tournament the express laboratory of Almaty AIDS Center was working that was passed by all of our students.

  Karaganda State Medical University was represented by the participants of the "INSIGHT" and "Namys" debate clubs: Fisenko Igor (5-119 GM), Malikaydar Aizhan (5-072 GM), Savin Nikita (3-051 GM), Hoffman Sabina (4-081 GM) ), Ibrayev Batyrzhan (6-101 GP Internship), Koishin Moldir (4-020 GM), Burkhanova Araylym (4-020 GM), Kadyrgali Saltangali (3-016 GM), Tanirbergen Altynai (3-016 GM) and Orynbek Alua (2-005 GM).

  The games were held in three stages: 1/4 finals, 1/2 finals and the final. Since the masters of the word were competing the tournament was very interesting and difficult at the same time. Such a well-known topic as AIDS suddenly started to play out in fresh colours, opening more and more sides of the issue. As a result, each participant had an opportunity to draw fresh attention at the world problem, we as representatives of the medical university tried to highlight the medical part of the issue.

The tournament ended with a dinner where all participants were awarded with letters of gratitude and diplomas for participation.

 "INSIGHT" and "Namys" debate clubs express gratitude to the rector of KSMU, Professor  R.S.Dosmagambetova for help in preparation for the tournament.
