Master-class of Professor David Woods in the Department of clinical pharmacology and evidence-based medicine

In the period from 25 September to 6 October 2017 in the framework of academic mobility at the Department of clinical pharmacology and evidence-based medicine,  clinical pharmacist, a representative of the Evidence-Based Network in New Zealand, editorial Director of Formulary and New Zealand Formulary for children in New Zealand, Professor, School of Pharmacy, Medical and pharmaceutical University of Otago (New Zealand) David Woods holds a master class on topical problems of clinical pharmacology and pharmacy.

David Woods is also a clinical Advisor, Kazakhstan National Formulary, a Member of International working group on the clinical development of SNOMED CT for drug allergy checking and clinical decision support, a Member of the Medical Safety Advisory Group (MSEAG) of the Health Quality and Safety Comission of New Zealand, Collaborative researcher of University of Ceara, Chair of Compounding Working Group.

Professional areas of research of Professor D. Woods are: drug allergy, drug groupings for clinical decision support and pharmacovigilance, population based medicines research, pediatric medicine formulation.

Professor D. Woods is actively cooperating with the Association of clinical pharmacologists of Kazakhstan, participates in organization and holding international scientific-practical conference on clinical pharmacology and pharmacy (Almaty, 2016 Aktobe, 20176г., Astana,2017.)

The program of the master class includes current issues of evidence-based medicine, drug interactions, complications of drug therapy, Drug use in Elderly with focus on polypharmacy and deprescribing, Medicines in pregnancy, breastfeeding and children, pharmacogenetic aspects of individualization of drug therapy.

Professor David woods holds classes for residents of all specialties on actual problems of clinical pharmacology and clinical pharmacy.
