Within the framework of the project on attraction of experts from Germany through SES (Senior Experts Service)in the period from September 14 to October 3, 2017the Department of the Public Health and Nursing of KSMU was visited by Professor Margot Sieger.

Senior Experts Service (SES) is an independent non-profit organization whose aim is to promote international cooperation, bringing together retired specialists and high-level personnels who offer consultative services on a voluntary basis. The fund was established in 1983 in Bonn. Since then, there have been implemented more than 23,000 projects in 160 countries with his participation. In our country, the fund began work since 1994 in the framework of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Germany.

During the visit Professor Margot Sieger met with the Vice-Rector for Strategic Development, Science and International Cooperation A. A. Turmukhambetova. Professor was familiarized with the Karaganda State Medical University: in particular, International Cooperation Department, laboratory of collective use of SRС and museum of the university were presented. On the 15th September Professor Margot Sieger began her teaching at the Department of Public Health and Nursing by helding lectures for students and master’s degree students on the following topics:

-  Health Care System;

-  Health Risks;

-  Results of Health and Medical Services;

-  Strategy “Health is for everyone in the 21 Century” (WHO);

-  Cooperation between professionals in the field of Health Care;

-  Networking between the Health care Institutions in a certain region.

During the visit at the KSMU, the Expert shared her experience with the Professors of the Public Health and Nursing Department, also gave the course on current Health care issues on the following topics:

- Funding Health Care.

- Medical Insurance.

- Public Health promotion, methods (Germany's experience).

- Use of active teaching methods PBL, RBL for «Public Health» discipline.

In addition to the work program, the Professor was offered a cultural programmes, within the framework of which the Professor visited the museum of the First President in the city of Temirtau.

Also, there is a plan to held an excursion to the KarLag museum, to the capital and the Regional Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics named after prof. H.Zh.Makazhanov and polyclinic of KSMU in order to get acquainted with the organizational structure and work of Healthcare institutions in Kazakhstan.
