Tuberculosis has been known since ancient times. The main simptoms of tuberculosis - cough, sputum, hemoptysis, exhaustion – are alrady described by Hippocrates, Galen, Avicenna. Since ancient times, there has been speculation about the contagious nature of tuberculosis.

According to WHO annually tuberculosis affects   9 million people worldwide, 3 million of whom die from its complications.

On September 15, the faculty of «Public Health, Biology and Pharmacy» along with the Department of «Epidemiology and Occupational health», organizeda lecture to the students of the faculty of the 1-2 courses on the topic of tuberculosis prevention. The lecture was conducted by the senior teacher of the faculty P.M. Britskaya.  During the lecture the students were acquainted with the statistical data on the incidence, symptoms, clinic, and most importantly the issues of tuberculosis prevention among the population were addressed.

The students of the faculty took an active part in the discussion of the issues of the spread of tuberculosis and its prevention. At the end of the lecture the students thanked the lecturer for interesting and useful information.
