"Luckily, i came to Kazakhstan"

26 July 2017

I spent a memorable month in Kazakhstan, where I met new people from different cultures; I traveled a lot around the city and learn about its history. I saw all the monuments and parks. They all have their own story. I visited mosques and churches in Karaganda. It's really nice when people of other cultures live together. I had the wonderful opportunity to participate in a research project with a respectable tutor.

Before I came here, I thought about how I would spend a month in this country. But when I arrived, I was given a very pleasant welcome. Now I feel sorry to leave the hospitable Kazakhstan. The reason I chose Kazakhstan is that our ancestors came from these places. I think that we have common roots.

The sincerity of the people and their assistance was invaluable. I was troubled by the language barrier, since I do not speak Russian. But all my friends and teachers supported me. And now I even started to speak a little Russian. I am grateful to my teachers and friends-curators who participate in KazMSA. I really liked Karaganda State Medical University. There are modern technologies that correspond to the spirit of the times, are very well integrated with the learning process.

My tutor Nuriya Mansurovna Kharissova was very hospitable and gave me valuable information for my scientific work. The decisive factor in the completion of the project was she. I would also like to thank the students who supported the project.

We have some differences in the educational process. In Turkey, we study physiology in the first and second years, while the students of KSMU study it at the second and third courses. We have only one year for an internship, and we finish medical education after six years of training.

My research concerned the effect of moderate physical activity on the functional parameters of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems in students. I chose this topic because we are studying it in the second year. I just finished the first course and thought that it would be preparation for these topics in advance. I learned how to use an electrocardiograph, spirometry and evaluate the results. We compared the results in this direction, then we found out what factors affect the cardiorespiratory system.

I think that participating in such an exchange program really helps students to be more self-confident. The study of research, the preparation of a scientific project and the exchange of results are really important parts of science.

Through this experience of exchange, I have also improved my English. I had a great time here. I really liked the city of Karaganda, it has many green places and nice people.

I say: " Luckily, that I came to Kazakhstan".
