On 25-27 May 2017 in Graz (Austria) was held the 5th ISC, attended by more than 200 master’s students and PhD students from all over the world. Karaganda State Medical University was represented by Tashmetov Elyarbek, a 5-year student of “General medicine” specialty, with a report on the topic “Our treatment experience and outcomes of osteomyelitis in children”. Scientific supervisor was M.D., Professor B.E. Tuleubaev.

The conference started with the registration of participants and an official opening ceremony, followed by a tour of the city. Working days of the conference were very intense and full of impressions and information because from morning to evening were held plenary sessions, alternating with master classes, lectures of eminent professors.

The conference included more than 100 oral presentations and posters, divided into 18 sections, according to the submitted abstracts.

On the last day of the conference was held a plenary session, where were announced all the results and the winners.

I was given a unique opportunity to get a great experience by participating in the conference of such level and scale, not to mention a huge number of friends I had a chance to acquaint with and that amount of knowledge I gained by attending lectures and master classes; the admiration and delight in every moment of my presence at that remarkable conference will remain in memory for a long time.

I express my deep gratitude to Rector of Karaganda State Medical University, M.D., Professor R.S. Dosmagambetova, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development, Science and International Cooperation, M.D., A.A. Turmukhambetova, the supervisor, M.D., Professor B.E. Tuleubaev and to my scientific mentor, an assistant of the Department of General Surgery and Traumatology, PhD student D.A. Saginova for the opportunity to participate in the international conference and to show one’s creativity.
