On 16-18 May 2017 in Moscow was held the All-Russian scientific-practical conference on the topic “Non-communicable diseases and the health of the population of Russia.” In the course of the conference work were covered the most important achievements and discussed the actual problems of Russian preventive medicine: implementation of the Strategy of formation of a healthy lifestyle, prevention and control of non-communicable diseases until 2025; improvement of the Procedure for prophylactic medical examination of population; actualization of the role of health centers and the problems of school medicine.

Within the framework of the events, associated with the conference, on 15 May was held a round table “Registers in cardiology: basic rules for conducting, modern experience and results of their creation in various regions of the Russian Federation”; on 16 May were held two symposiums with the participation of the representatives of the World Health Organization and specialists from near and far abroad countries for discussing the issues of combating the chronic non-communicable diseases in the countries with transitional economy. At the symposium on the topic “Assessment of the situation concerning the fight against chronic non-communicable diseases in the countries with transitional economy”, Professor Alikhanova K.A. reported the material on the results of scientific research conducted at the walls of KSMU. The department employees: associate professors Zhakipbekova V.A., Omarkulov B.K., Abugalieva T.O. and a doctoral candidate Iskakov E.B. presented certain fragments of the research (abstracts).

Special attention of specialists also drew the round tables “Experience in organizing and conducting the epidemiological research in Russia” and “Epidemiology and prevention of chronic non-infectious diseases in minors”.

In the framework of the joint project of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the Russian Society of Cardiology (RSC) was held a webinar “The problem of atherosclerosis and associated cardiovascular diseases in Russia. Secondary prevention of cardiovascular diseases”, that certainly aroused the interest of both clinicians and specialists in preventive medicine.

The conference was attended by doctors of various medical specialties, scientific workers, organizers of public health. Such unification of professionals as always allowed officially discussing the main issues of the conference.

The format of the conference included a plenary session, symposiums and round tables, a contest of young scientists, where were presented the best works of young scientists from various regions of Russia. The participants of the conference were acquainted with the most up-to-date developments of domestic and foreign pharmaceutical companies and manufacturers of medical equipment and materials.
