Interdisciplinary olympiad in anatomy and histology

and Histology was held an interdisciplinary olympiad in anatomy and histology.
Student olympiads are one of the means to enhance the creative potential of the
future specialist, develop research, organizational and educational activities,
promote scientific knowledge among the students already in the first courses of
training in higher educational institutions. Student olympiads allow checking
the level of theoretical and practical preparation of future specialists in the
field of anatomy and histology. The olympiad contributes to identification and
selection of creative thinking young people for research, administrative,
organizational and pedagogical activity, residency and master's training.
Acquired during the olympiad creative experience can be used by the departments
for further modernization of the educational process and development of inter-university
olympiad movement.
The purpose of the contest was to identify and support talented students capable of solving theoretical and practical problems, prone to creative and research activities.
In the olympiad took part 64 students of second year of training of Faculty of General Medicine. The olympiad program consisted of 2 rounds. In the first round of the olympiad, students passed the qualifying test. Each student, participating in the olympiad, had to answer 50 multiple-choice questions. It was necessary to choose the correct answer to each test question. The theoretical part of the olympiad included the sections of anatomy and general histology. According to the test results, the general list of students was made, which indicated the points in the descending order. The first 33 students who had scored more than 50% of points took part in the second round of the olympiad.
In the second round, the students were offered to solve 10 situational paraclinical tasks in anatomy and histology. The students also worked on microphotographs and anatomical pictures. The winners and prizewinners of the olympiad in the individual competition were determined according to the participant’s results in the 2nd round of the olympiad. Based on the results of the total number of points, the winners were awarded the diplomas and certificates. A student of 2-001 group A.A. Edige was awarded I degree diploma; II degree diploma was given to a student of 2-023 group R.E. Akhmedia; III degree diplomas were given to the following students: G.S. Tukenova (2-012 group), D.A. Ibadullaeva (2-023 group), G.A. Amirkhanova (2-023 group). 8 students received the certificates.
The contest was organized under the supervision of the academic and teaching staff of Departments of Anatomy and Histology.
