14th Republican Contest “The Best Graduate – 2017” was held at Marat Ospanov West Kazakhstan State Medical Unversity. In the contest participated medical universities. 26 students from the universities of Aktobe, Almaty, Semey, Karaganda and Shymkent took part in the contest. The honor of Karaganda State Medical University was defended by: “The Best Obstetrician-Gynecologist Intern of KSMU” Demeyeva Nursaule Mukhtarovna; “The Best Surgical Intern of KSMU” Dakibayev Nurtas Samatovich; “The Best Therapist Intern of KSMU” Kalimbetova Akerke Baurzhanovna; “The Best Intern of General Medical Practice of KSMU” Rakhmetov Zhandos Zharylkasynovich.

The traditional competition was held in three stages. In the first stage, an intern had to solvesituational tasks according to the specialty;in the second stage,interns showed practical skills in providing emergency care by the use of simulation technologies. The third stage was theassessment of medical science projects. As a result of the competition, the first places in the specialties “Surgery”, “Internal Medicine”, “General Medical Practice” were taken by Dakibayev Nurtas, Kalimbetova Akerke and Rakhmetov Zhandos, respectively.
