Academic Mobility in Marat Ospanov West Kazakhstan State Medical University

Within the framework of the academic mobility program for the academic and teaching staff of Marat Ospanov West Kazakhstan State Medical University (M. Ospanov WKSMU) and Karaganda State Medical University (KSMU) was made a visit of Head of Department of Physiology, M.D.Professor Mindubaeva Farida Anvarovna for lecturing, conducting seminar and practical classes.

History of M.Ospanov WKSMU began in 1957, when Aktobe State Medical Institute (AkSMI) was opened and started training in“Medicine”specialty, designed to ensure qualified medical staff in West and North-West Kazakhstan.

Within the walls of the university workedthe well-known in Kazakhstan and abroad scientists, academicians, professors: T.Sh. Sharmanov, R.S. Kuzdenbaeva, K.Zh. Akhmetov, K.A. Zhamankulov, Zh.K. Ordabayev, T.Zh. Umbetov, M.K. Teleuov, T.K. Kudaibergenov, A.A. Utepbergenov and many others.

The organizer of Department of Normal Physiology was E.G. Skipina, a graduate of Almaty State Medical Institute. From the 70's to 1997, Department was headed by Professor A.A. Utepbergenov, the author of the textbooks “Medical Biophysics” (M. 1980, “Adam Phiziologiyasy” (Almaty, 1995), “Handbook of Physiological and Laboratory Parameters of Healthy Person” (Aktobe, 1995), “Balalar Phiziologiyasy”, 1997).

Since 2010, Department has been led by Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor A.T. Kaldybaeva, a graduate of Almaty State Medical Institute.

During her stay in M. Ospanov WKSMU, F.A. Mindubaeva conducted a course of lectures on the module “Physiology of CNS” on the topics: “Physiology of Spinal Cord”, “Physiology of Stem Structures of Brain”, “Integrative Activity of Cerebral Cortex” for students of the 3rd course of “General Medicine” specialty; “Physiology of Purposeful Activities and Work”, “Physiology of Pain”, “Physiology of Blood” for students of “Public Health”, “Medical and Preventive Care”, and “Nursing Care” specialties.

Teachers of Departments of Normal Physiology and Pathologic Physiology were acquainted with the innovative methods of training of students in KSMU, with experience of teaching of norms and pathology. In the educational process of Department of Normal Physiology of M. Ospanov WKSMU were introduced the methodological recommendations “Methods of Research of Functions of CNS” in RBL format.

For teachers, doctoral students, undergraduates of Departments of Normal and Pathologic Physiology were organized seminar courses on the cycle “Actual Problems of Modern Physiology”.

Professor F.A. Mindubaeva used clinical practice examples and demonstrated excellent video slides in her lectures and innovative teaching technologies (PBL, RBL) in practical classes and seminars which aroused great interest among students and teachers of Departments of Normal and Pathologic Physiology.
