International Congress: 50th Annual Meeting of the European Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN)

On 10-13 May 2017 in Prague was organized and held the International Congress: Annual 50th Meeting of the European Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN). Its President is Raanan Shamir. There were invited many leading scientists from around the world, researchers, members of world associations of pediatric hepatology, gastroenterology and nutrition from Sweden, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Switzerland, UK, Czech Republic, Poland, Netherlands, France, Spain, Canada, etc., as well as guests from CIS countries (Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan).

From the Republic of Kazakhstan were invited: Head of Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases of Karaganda State Medical University, MD, Professor, Academician of RANS Begaydarova R.Kh. and Head of Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases of Almaty State Institute of Improvement of Doctors, Professor Idrisova R.S.

President of ESPGHAN, Professor Raanan Shamir and Chairman of Organization, Professor Jiri Bronsky opened the official part and familiarized us with the upcoming conference program.

The Congress presented a very interesting scientific program with a wide range of scientific sessions and symposia as well as clinical tacks and postgraduate courses, master classes in endoscopy. During the conference were discussed the issues of innovative methods of diagnostics and treatment in pediatric gastroenterology and hepatology, and the issues of nutrition in the section of pediatric nutrition.

In addition, during the meeting in the ePoster area at 12 ePoster stations we were shown electronically 120 best posters, such as “Acholic stool: are parents and general pediatricians aware of the importance of this clinical marker of cholestasis?” (Paolo Galio, Italy), “Is Helicobacter pylori chronic infection associated with the severity of celiac disease” (Efrat Broide, Israel), etc.

The most interesting papers and poster information will be available to the employees of Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, infectious diseases specialists of Regional Infectious Diseases Hospital, members of Society for Infectious Diseases Specialists and residency students and will allow using this information in the educational process and clinical practice.

Thus, the meeting became a platform for cooperation and strengthening of friendship that unites its international audience.

At the end of the Congress was adopted a resolution.
