On 26 April 2017 was held the LVII Scientific Conference of Students and Young Scientists with international participation, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of West Kazakhstan State Medical University named after Marat Ospanov in Aktobe.

The guests of the conference were students and young scientists from Bashkir State Medical University, Orenburg State Medical University, Volgograd Institute of Business, A.I. Evdokimov Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry, Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, Karaganda State Medical University, JSC “Astana Medical University”, Semey State Medical University, and Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University.

The plenary sessions of the conference were held at the conference hall named after Aqqaghaz Doszhanova, the first Kazakh female doctor. The meeting was opened with a welcoming speech by Ye.Zh. Bekmukhambetov, the rector of WKSMU named after M. Ospanov.

The work of the conference began with the Plenary Session, where the results were summed up and the winners of the contest for the title of “The Best Scientific Circle” and “The Best Student” were awarded; a solemn oath of the judges of the conference was taken, followed by subsequent performance of the student choir “UVENTUS”.

The conference was held in 22 section meetings, two of which were entirely in English, where also the posters in English of the students of the University, colleges and schools were presented.

Our university was represented by students: Ye.V. Burkovskaya (Scientific Advisor: Candidate of Medical Sciences, acting Professor A.R. Alpyssova), Zh.M. Baymaghambet, T.K. Madeniyet, B.A. Kaidar, A.K. Abenova(Scientific Advisor: M.T. Kultenova), who were awarded the Diplomas of I degree. Zh.M. Baymaghambet,K.K. Kabdullina, Z.Ye. Lamezhanova (Scientific Advisor: M.D., acting Professor T.T. Kispayeva) were awarded the Diplomas of II degree, and Zh.S. Omarkhanov(Scientific Advisor: Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Kh.B. Bismildin)was awarded the Diploma of III degree.

After completion of the sectional meetings, the representatives of WKSMU named after M. Ospanov and Bashkir State Medical University conducted the master classes in the basics of emergency cardiology, endocrinology, thrombophilia in obstetrics and gynecology for all comers.

This year in the collection of conference materials were published 493 works in Kazakh, Russian and English languages from 46 higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, near and far abroad countries.
