On 15-16 April at KSMU was conducted the Republican Debate Tournament “Daryndylar kosh bastaidy” by the Youth Work Department together with “INSIGHT” and “Namys” debate clubs.

  56 teams from all regions of Kazakhstan took part in the tournament. The official formats of the tournament were “American Parliamentary”, “British Parliamentary” and “Lincoln-Douglas”. The official languages of the tournament were Russian and Kazakh.

  The main objective of such events is to develop the civil initiatives of students, improve the discussion skills, broaden their horizons, and develop the ability to substantiate the civic position.

  After two days of debates, the places in the “Russian League” were distributed as follows:

III place - Zhantasov Rustam and Armanov Rustem (Petropavlovsk, College of Arts and Medical College)

II place - Mamazov Mirkhiy (Astana, Kazakhstan branch of MSU) and Kadyrov Mukhiddin (Karaganda, KSMU)

I place - Gabbas Saulet (PSU) and Aikenov Daulet (MUA)

The Best Speaker: Gabbas Saulet (PSU).

  Two best teams of the “Kazakh League” became the Medical University of Astana and KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov, which reached the finals after the qualifying rounds. Tursynkhanova Saltanat and Zholdasbek Meruert (MUA) became the winners of the I Republican Debate Tournament for the Cup of Rector of KSMU.

  Two experienced tournament fighters Dastan Akkozha (Turan University of Almaty) and Sandybek Alibek (KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov) met in the finals of the tournament conducted in the format of “Lincoln-Douglas”. Dastan Akkozha, by the unanimous decision of the judges, was acknowledged the winner of the 1st Republican Debate Tournament for the Cup of Rector of KSMU.

  The final places were distributed as follows:

  III place – “Biz romantic emespiz” Medical University of Semey

  II place – “Alma Mater” KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov

  I place – “SMILE” Medical University of Astana.

  All the winners of the tournament were awarded the memorable cups and money certificates.

  “INSIGHT” and “Namys” debate clubs express gratitude to Rector of KSMU, Professor R.S. Dosmagambetova, Vice-Rector for Educational and Methodological Work V.B. Molotov-Luchanskiy and to the Youth Work Department for the assistance in preparation for the tournament.
