On 14 April 2017 at Karaganda State Medical University was held the International Conference of Young Scientists and Students “Science world and youth: tendencies and new horizons”. This date was not chosen accidentally: 12 April in Kazakhstan is celebrated as the Day of Scientists, and this day is also known for the first manned space flight.

The conference was attended by the representatives of universities of Kazakhstan and foreign countries. The working languages of the conference were Kazakh, Russian and English.The conference was divided into sections: “Public Health, Hygiene”, “Medicine”, “Public Health and General Hygiene”, “Clinical medicine (therapeutic direction)”, “Clinical medicine (surgical, obstetrical and gynecological direction)”, “Molecular Biology, Histology”, “Biophysical Methods and Computer Technologies in Medicine”, “Humanities”, E-Poster section.

The opening plenary session took place at the Assembly Hall. The topics of the presentations were very diverse: from the study of staphylococcus to the prospects for development of canistherapy, as well as the issues of introduction of health insurance.

In classrooms, each young scientist and student had an opportunity to present their research to the audience and receive the feedback

Following the results of the conference, were awarded the best speakers, given the certificates to participants and expressed gratitude to all those present.

Scientific conferences held at our university every year are a very good opportunity to realize ourselves in the sphere of not only the research, but the medicine as a whole. This is a very good start for us as the medical students.Some of us have participated in this conference for the first time and we have only positive emotions. We managed not only to present our works to the audience, but also to listen to the students of our university and the guests from the other medical universities of our country and abroad. It was very interesting to familiarize with the speakers’ reports and receive the feedback in the form of some advice and recommendations from the audience, which can be applied to our future works. We look forward to our participating in such conferences in the future and presenting the results of our new research.
