In the framework of the implementation of the strategic partnership program between Karaganda State Medical University and Lund University (Sweden), on 20 April 2017 in KSMU was conducted a master-class “Development of Internationalization Strategy of KSMU within the Bologna Process”. This master-class was given by an international expert from Lund University, Mr. Bragioni Hugo Francisco.

35 attendees from the administrative-managerial, academic and teaching staff of KSMU took part in the master-class.

The master-class was conducted by Mr. Bragioni Hugo Francisco in the form of the presentation with the concurrent detailed explanation of the internationalization process.

Four main issues of the internationalization strategy were clarified to the master-class participators:

-  History of internationalization process and its main aspects;

-  Definition of “Internationalization”;

-  Institutional actions for development of internationalization;

-  Partnership.

There was emphasized the importance of signing the Bologna Declaration by Kazakhstan in March 2010, resulting in the gradual transference of universities of Kazakhstan to the credit system of education. Thereby, the university students received an access to both the European Higher Education Area and the global educational arena, as ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) is a key tool of the Bologna Process.

In addition, Mr. Bragioni Hugo Francisco gave particular attention to the development of the internationalization process at all levels of the university: corporate, educational, scientific, administrative and service levels.

At the end of the master-class, the participators had an opportunity to ask the international expert some questions. The results were summed up by giving the certificates to all participators of the master-class.
