On 26 January 2017 took place the III City Subject Olympiad in biology and chemistry among the learners of the municipal schools of Karaganda. The school subject Olympiad was timed to the XXVIII World Winter Universiade-2017

The organizers of the subject Olympiad were Karaganda State Medical University and the Resource Center of CSI “General Secondary School No. 5” of the City Department of Education.

The Resource Center has turned 10 yearsthis year. During this period has been lasting the cooperation of Karaganda State Medical University with the Resource Center.

Great contribution to organization of the subject Olympiad was made by the Vice-Rector for Educational and Methodological Work of KSMU Molotov-Luchanskiy Vilen Borisovich, the Principal of CSI “General Secondary School No. 5” Utemuratova Basira Kazbekovna, the Head of the Department of Introduction into clinic of KSMU, M.D., Professor Kabieva Saule Mautovna, and the collective of scientists chemists and biologists of our university.

In the Olympiad took part 45 educational schools of Karaganda. The total amount of the learners constituted 374 people, studying at Kazakh and Russian departments.

The biology assignments were prepared by the staff of the Department of Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics under the leadership of the Head of the Department, Professor Kultanov Berikbay Zhukenovich, associate professors of the department Britko Valery Vladimirovich and Dyusenbekova Bayan Nesterovna, and a senior teacher Suldina Elena Stepanovna.

The employees, who prepared the chemistry assignments and did a lot of organizational work, were the Head of the course of chemistry, Associate Professor Vlassоva Lenina Mikhailovna, associate professors Sotchenko Raisa Kalinovna and Mitirev Vladislav Aleksandrovich, and the master Mukabylova Arailym Omergalikyzy.

The ceremony of rewarding of winners was held on 30 January 2017 at the Hall of the Academic Council of KSMU. The prizewinners got certificates and memorable books. The organizers, teachers, subject teachers of schools, parents and pupils made a speech in reply. In memory of the winners and prizewinners of the Olympiad was taken a photo, symbolizing the cooperation of our University and the schools of the city.
