Great interest aroused in KSMU due to the Torch Relay of the XXVIII World Winter Universiade that took place in Karaganda

On 26 January, more than 3.000 students and teachers of our University came to the educational building No.1 in order to take part in the grand event. More importantly, Kazakhstan was the first among the countries of the former Soviet Union, which hosts the winter universiade.

Especially the students of KSMU were delighted about the fact that five students of our University Abay Maksat, Sarsenbaev Kasym, Kireev Dmitry, Sarsembay Ablaikhan and Tuleev Aidar had the honor to run through the streets of the native city as a party to the Torch Relay group.

In addition, the top 20 students of the University took part in the solemn ceremony as the volunteers of the Universiade.

  The students and teachers of KSMU welcomed the Torch Relay group by the storm of applause and “Alga, Kazakhstan!” enthusiastic cheers. The staff of each faculty was loudly chanting the cheerful slogans in order to encourage the participants of the ceremony.

After the event, the audience did not want to leave and kept on taking pictures of themselves with the mascot and the flag of the University.
