From 29 January to 8 February 2017, in Almaty are taking place the games of the XXVIII World Winter Universiade.

  The Universiade is the officially recognized student equivalent of the Olympic Games. The permission to participate in the competition is given to the students, postgraduate students and graduates of higher educational institutions at the age of 17 to 28 years.

  Kazakhstan was the first among the countries of the former Soviet Union, which conducts the winter Universiade. The experience of our athletes in participation in the universiades has been measured since 1993.

  Karaganda State Medical University had the great honor to nominate its students to participate in the ceremony of the “Torch Relay”. The “Torch Relay” group from Karaganda region consisted of the following:

   Abay Maksat Abayevich (5-025 ОМ);

  Kireev Dmitry Evgenievich (6-035 ОМ);

  Sarsembay Ablaikhan Manatuly (5-026ОМ);

  Sarsenbaev Kasym Kuandykovich (6-030ОМ);

  TuleevAidarErgalievich (5-006 ОМ).

   In addition to the participants of the “Torch Relay” group, the top 20 students of KSMU will take part in the games as the volunteers.
