Head of Department of History of Kazakhstan and SPD K.A. Temirgaliev and a Senior Lecturer A.B. Dolgopolov visited O.A. Baikonurov Zhezkazgan University from October 17, 2016 to October 27, 2016 in the framework of implementation of academic mobility program for teaching and academic staff of universities. They gave lectures and practical classes on the disciplines “Contemporary History of Kazakhstan” and “Religion Studies” according to the thematic plan confirmed earlier.

During the classes were used active teaching methods such as documentary films, presentations and student discussions on issues of contemporary history of Kazakhstan and religious studies. The students of Zhezkazgan University “received” video questions, as control assignments from students of Karaganda State Medical University (Sanzhar Zhumanbaev, 2-year student of “General Medicine” specialty, and Adel Abenova, 3-year student of “General Medicine” specialty), on some topics of contemporary history of Kazakhstan arousing great interest of students.

Additionally, Head of Department K.A. Temirgaliev conducted a master class for university staff on topic “Methodological Crisis of Social Science in Modern Challenges”. Prior to the lecture of K.A. Temirgaliev, the Senior Lecturer A.B. Dolgopolov briefly familiarized the teachers of Zhezkazgan University with the active teaching methods of training in social and political disciplines used by Department of History of Kazakhstan in KSMU: presentationlectures, records of short video lectures on history of Kazakhstan, notably with copyright certificates; arrangement of trips of KSMU students together with the staff of Department to historical and cultural monuments for promotion of rich cultural heritage of Kazakh nation; other methods of work.   

The master class of K.A. Temirgaliev also aroused the interest of university teachers. After the lecture of K.A. Temirgaliev was conducted a survey, through the analysis of which was revealed the interest of Zhezkazgan University staff in teaching methods (PBL, TBL, RBL) of our department, as well as their opinion on the importance of methodological crisis of social science in Kazakhstan for further discussions.

  During the practical classes within the master class of K.A. Temirgaliev, were held discussions aimed at exchanging experience in active teaching methods.

It is necessary to note that Professor of Zhezkazgan University Allaniyazov T.K. was very hospitable and introduced us to the University administration, provided convenient classes, prompt information on time and place of our open classes to his colleagues.

Within the framework of academic mobility program for university staff and based on the results of lectures and practical lessons for the students of Zhezkazgan University were conducted several tests on contemporary history of Kazakhstan. Analysis of test results showed that majority of students adopted the materials via suggested forms. They expressed their gratitude to the administration of KSMU and Zhezkazgan University for possibility of such visits through academic mobility program for university staff.
