On 19 October, Youth Work Department in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Work of “Samruk” SR conducted an event dedicated to the National day of refusal of alcohol.

   According to the World Health Organization, alcohol abuse ranks third as the cause of diseases and premature deaths worldwide. Every year alcohol abuse leads to 3.3 million of deaths, that constitutes 5.9% of all deaths. The level of alcohol consumption per capita is the main indicator of alcohol situation in our country and around the world.

  The activists of the Ministry prepared a colorful presentation about the harm to the human body caused by alcohol. The demonstration was held in interactive mode and within the feedback with the audience were discussed the following issues:

·  Effects of alcoholism on female and male bodies;

·  Effects of alcohol during pregnancy;

·  Children's alcoholism;

·  Diseases caused by alcoholic products, etc.

  After the meeting all those present came to unanimous conclusion that alcohol consumption should be of alarming concern no only to doctors, but also to all people taking care of their own health and health of their children. It is necessary to conduct systematic work on prevention of this addiction that kills a person both inside and outside.
