It became a heart-warming tradition to celebrate on the first days of October the International Day of Older Persons.The Day of Older Persons is a good and bright holiday of people we love deeply, and on this day we encompass our parents, grandfathers and grandmothers with care and attention.

On 23 September, the students of the groups 5-083 and 7-074 under the leadership of G.A. Kovaleva, Assistant of the Department of General Medical Practice No. 1, arranged medical examination of the elderly persons and individuals with disabilities. Our students-medics saw the patients, talked to them, measured blood pressure in the wards of the nursing home, their pulse rate with further registration of obtained data.

On 26 September in the eve of the Day of Older Persons, the students of KSMU under the leadership of G.A. Kovaleva, Assistant of the Department of General Medical Practice No. 1, arranged a charity concert at the home for the elderly and disabled No. 1 of Karaganda.

Taking into account the fact that the life of elderly people is not quite complete, that they belong to a special category of citizens who need constant assistance, including medical, a student of 5-083 group Ufimtseva A. had a conversation with presentation on topic “Hypertension, risk factors and their correction”. In her speech, she clearly explained the causes and clinical features of the disease and gave recommendations on lifestyle.

An Intern of 7-074 group, Tashkin A. did very entertaining and useful physical exercises together with the inhabitants of the home for the elderly.

The festive concert was opened by participants of dombra bandZhabagenov D.(5-074 group) and Iskakov M. (5-084 group);a nice verse of own composition “Дом престарелых” was recited by Tairakhunov D. (7-042 group), which touched the hearts of the audience. The rhythmic gymnastics dance performed by Ibraeva K. (7-065 group) caused kind smiles on the faces of elderly people, and the song by Birlik N. (6-085 group) “Асыл ана” made the audience both sadand happy. Cheerful melody of the song “Хуторянка”performed byBarankulova D. and Muratbekova M.(5-083 group) was warmly accepted by the audience and supported by dancing.

In our concert program was also included a folk dance performed by Abdil A. (5-083 group), and Uzbek lively dance performed by Yaulshova D. (7-074 group).

At the end, young people performed the final song “Мы желаем счастья вам”.

The elderly people were happy about this wonderful holiday,because there is nothing more important for our grandparents than our respect, care and compassion.
