From July 26 to August 2, 2016, the International Congress «Critical Surgical Abdomen Consensus Conference» was held in the city of Dublin, the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, in which took part PhD-students of Karaganda State Medical University Matyushko Dmitriy and Badyrov Ruslan. The organizers of the Congress is the World Society of Emergency Surgery.

During this Congress, doctors and scientists from different countries thoroughly discussed such important issues in surgery as the intra-abdominal infections, complex treatment of acute surgical diseases of the abdominal cavity with the use of «open abdomen» techniques, as well as different ways of abdominal wall reconstruction.

In the context of the Congress program PhD-students made presentations «Extracellular bovine-derived peritoneum matrix: the new biological graft for abdominal wall reconstruction» (Badyrov R.M., research manager Prof. Abatov N.T.), «Influence of intra-abdominal hypertension on marker-presepsin sCD14» (Matyushko D.N., research manager Prof. Turgunov E.M.), which are the main subjects of their dissertations. All abstracts were published in the Congress proceedings.
