Highly dangerous infections seminar at Health Department of Karaganda region

In connection with the tragic events of June in the village Erkindyk of Shet district, the outbreak of anthrax and death of two people, Health Department of Karaganda region, in cooperation with the Karaganda State Medical University (KSMU) conducted series of events for medical staff training for especially dangerous, quarantine infections.

Kim Antonina Arkadyevna, the head of the department of infectious diseases and dermatovenereology in a selector room of the Health Department of Karaganda region on 04.07.2016, 07.07.-08.07.2016 conducted Remote tele-lectures cycle about especially dangerous, quarantine infections, relevant to the Republic of Kazakhstan (RK). The seminar was attended by 20 regional areas: the Central Hospital of Saran, the Central Hospital of Shahtinsk, Zhezkazgan zonal representative, the Central Hospital of Priozersk, the Central Hospital of Karazhal, the Central Hospital of Balkhash, CRH of Abay, Ulytau, Aktogay, Zhanaarkinsk, Shet, Buharzhyrau, Osakarovsky, Nura and others. areas. And doctors of health facilities of Karaganda- infectiologists, internists, surgeons, traumatologists, dermatovenereologists and etc.

Kim A.A. focused attention on the special importance of early diagnosis for especially dangerous infections, the statement of putative cases of clinical manifestations of the disease, a probable case - according to the epidemiological anamnesis, confirmed by the case - based on the results of laboratory studies, verification of the etiological factor. There were covered issues about next topics: "Anthrax", "The Plague", "Tularemia", "Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever," "haemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome", "Rabies". These diseases have a natural focality in Kazakhstan, therefore require medical knowledge, alertness and vigilance. There were presented clinical cases of patients who died from anthrax, based on work of the Regional Infectious Diseases Hospital of Karaganda, examples from personal experience in the hearth of Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever in Zhambyl, South Kazakhstan region of Kazakhstan. Also, WHO’s and SDS’s data of recent years aboutespecially dangerous infections were presented.

  Remote tele-lectures listeners showed interest, their questions were answered in online-mode. After the seminar, all participants had obtained access to lecture materials.
