On April 8,  Karaganda Polytechnic College hold a traditional contest "Абайоқулары " among the non-indigenous. The competition was organized by SE "Department of culture and language development of Karaganda". The main purpose of the event: development and promotion of the Kazakh language and culture and strengthening the spiritual unity of Kazakhstan.

About two dozen boys and girls of the age 15-25 participated in the contest representing higher and secondary educational institutions of Karaganda. Each participant had to perform the poems of Abay and answer questions about his creation and life.

Karaganda State Medical University was represented by second-year student of the Faculty of GM Kalimullina Elsa (2-077 GM).

The competition was organized at a very high level. All participants showed a maximum effort, artistic reciting the poems of the first classic and founder of Kazakh written literature. College jury deliberated for a long time, before making the final verdict. As a result of the unanimous decision of the jury, the third place was awarded the student of KSMU E.Kalimullina. As a prize, the organizers awarded Elsa a valuable gift - Kazakh national musical instrument dombra.
