Vocational guidance is a step to the future.

Vocational guidance is the help for the young generation in their conscious choice of profession. In this regard Junior Academy of Sciences (JAS) is a unique form of additional education aimed at the realization of the needs of the students’ in-depth study of the subject, at the formation of research skills, at the determination of the intellectual capabilities of professional interests and educational priorities. Over a number of years graduates of the life sciences section became highly qualified specialists in various fields of medicine, scientists and PhD.

Much attention is paid to the work with the students in Karaganda State Medical University since the formation of JAS. Bright event in KSMU was the 46th Regional Scientific and Practical Conference of biomedical section of Central Kazakhstan branch held on April 6-7 within 42nd JAS republican scientific-practical conference of RK. President of CKB of JAS Professor S. P. Teryokhin and KSMU Vice-Rector for Research A. A. Turmukhambetova wished all participants success at the opening ceremony. The conference participants - high school students reported research works in chemistry, biology, ecology and valeology in the state and Russian languages.

It should be noted that experts-jury members noted good quality of the students’ works and reports. However, half of more than 500 works were excluded at the first stage of the competition. The best students’ works were awarded with diplomas of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree. And 10 conference participants and their supervisors were awarded with diplomas and gifts from the vice-chancellor of KSMU prof. R. S. Dosmagambetovа. Certificates and souvenirs were handed to all speakers of the research and practical conference. The best works were recommended for submission to participate in national competitions, and their supervisors were awarded with certificates of merit.

After awarding professor S. P.Teryokhin wished the young scientists further success in their chosen medical profession.
