Academic mobility to the Bashkir State Medical University

In order to implement the external academic mobility program Associated Professor Gulshat Kemelova visited Bashkir State Medical University (BSMU) from February 20 to March 4, 2016 on the subject "Fundamentals of evidence-based medicine".

In BSMU all facilities for lectures, training on evidence-based medicine and a master class for the objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) were created. Training conducted for students at undergraduate level, continuing professional development of students, doctors of the Republican Clinical Hospital after G. Kuvatova. The materials were presented in the form of problem lectures, presentations and seminars using active-teaching methods (TBL, CBL). Lectures were held at different educational and clinical bases of BSMU, including clinic №6 and №21.

The Conference on the theme "Modern educational technology in medical education in the XXI century. Competence formation for clinical teachers. OSCE with modern positions” was held on the 27th of February forthe purpose of dissemination of Kazakhstani experience of clinical training using manikins and increase motivation of BSMU faculty to actively introduce a simulation training and OSCE.  The Conference was opened by Galimov OV, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Vice-Rector for clinical work of BSMU, director of the Belarusian State Medical University Clinic. Participants of the conference were heads of departments, professors and teachers of clinical departments, clinical residents and students of Belarusian State Medical University. The conference discussed the development of clinical skills using manikins, the organization of OSCE to assess the clinical competence of students.

Thus, the academic mobility provides an invaluable opportunity to enhance personal development and pedagogical skills in the new team, opens new horizons for mutual cooperation, promotes cultural exchange and allows all participants of the program to gain experience on effective interaction and further development of cooperation in education, science and practice. In addition, staff mobility enhances the competitiveness of high education, which further leads to the promotion of scientific schools and educational activities of universities.

Special thanks were expressed to Vice-Rector for clinical work of BSMU, Professor Galimov OV, the dean of the medical faculty, Professor Rakhmatullina IR, Head of the Center of practical skills, Associate Professor, Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Biktimirova GA for the warm welcome and full support during the stay in the Belarusian State Medical University.
