From the 27th of February to the 12th March 2016 in Valletta (Malta) there was held the 65th General Assembly of IFMSA.

IFMSA (International Federation of Medical Students' Associations) was founded in 1951,and it brings together more than 1.3 million medical students among the 127 national organizations from 119 countries and is the part of the World Health Organization (WHO).

KazMSA (Kazakhstan Medical Youth Association) joined the International Federation in 2014 as a candidate member of the federation, and for two years, showing its activity, was invitin to the 65th General Assembly.
Delegates to the Assembly from our country adopted 11 students  from different medical universities of Kazakhstan. B.S.Ibraev (4-014 GM) U.Orynkazy (4-073 OM) A.T.Malikaydar (3-043 GM) A.Umbetali (3-075 GM) M.M.Nurmuldina (1-026 GM) presented KSMU on the General Assembly’s sessions.

Our team was previously divided on sessions and committees made by the organizing committee. From the earliest days, our delegation was actively manifested itself on the sessions of the standing committees on medical education, public health, sexual and reproductive health, professional and research exchanges and in the field of human rights and peace. Each committee discussed important issues regarding a certain area, where various kinds of discussions, trainings, team work, etc. was organized.

Presidential session was carried out in addition to sessions of the standing committees. There were discussed organizational issues related to the complete acceptance of  KazMSA  to International Federation. All issues were discussed at the global level, since election process is based on the results of the commission, and the voting right of 127 national organizations from all over the world. The evaluation and the voting commissions approved two years   of our Association's job. On the 5th of March of Maltese time KazMSA  has received the status of «Fullmembership", while, before that, we were only candidates. It was a historic moment for all of us. But being aware of the seriousness and responsibility of this status, we are not resting on our laurels and continue to work actively, primarily to achieve positive results in the fields of activity of our Association, as well as to show their capabilities around the world.
