We are, students of Karaganda state medical University, have visited the Graduate school of Medicine in Barcelona for one semester; our education included two cycles: Internal diseases, Obstetrics and Gynecology. Internal diseases included: Cardiology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Hematology, Infectious disease, Phthisiology, Nephrology. In addition, we had courses of health management. Our medical practice bases were:  Hospital Universitari Sant Joan de Reus (Spain,Reus), Hospital  Asl (Viterbo,Italy), Imagine Clinique (Spain,Barcelona). Such famous and high-qualified doctors and scientists taught at the courses. They are Leonardo Enrique Romero Montenar – radiologist,   gynecologist, mammologist, Paul Roddy –infection disease doctor, epidemiologist, microbiologist, Xavier Borellas – cardiologist and nephrologist.

The hospital is very huge, has last technology. On the first picture we can see entrance to the hospital, on the second picture we made photo with the head of the hospital.

Firstly, patients take tickets, then when their row comes they enter special room, in that room doctor is waiting. So, no one knows with which problem you came. It is kind of personal protection.

The most amazing thing that I saw was robots. Robots are located on the Underground level. Also, they are located in the pediatric department. The main goal of the robots is transportation. They transport medicaments from pharmacy to other places.

Next thing that made me delight was pharmacology department. In next slide I will explain how machine works. Firstly, it takes information from doctor's prescription, and then everything is analyzed by machine. After that, machine starts to pack drugs and write all information about treatment. So patient can control his treatment.

Children’s department includes a children's section preschool profile school and adolescence, as well as a section of child psychiatry. Neonatal department includes: Section of neonatal therapy, section semi-intensive care for newborns, neonatology, pediatric neurology, pediatric gastroenterology, pediatric cardiology, pediatric nephrology, pediatric pulmonology, children's allergy, pediatric endocrinology, pediatric dermatology, children’s nutrition, children's infectious diseases section for study and treatment of celiac disease, disorders, and child obesity. Department’s walls were painted  in different cartoon heroes. When we entered, we felt like we are just in one of the child gardens. This atmosphere helps children to forget about their diseases, so they recover faster and feel themselves very comfortable. Moreover, there is playing room were little quests can paint, play with each other, watch cartoons. For Patients in the age of 7-15 years they have special room where they can study, to go with one leg with their classmates. For newborns, they have separate rooms to avoid spreading of infections. In addition, they have rooms for keeping baby nutriments fresh. What’s more,

hospital has a big physiotherapy hall where patients have recovering courses. Trainers help to do them in right way.

ASl hospital

Exposure to the Viterbo clinic started from the front door. Welcoming staff, cozy atmosphere, precision and discipline are there. Having put on a doctor’s gown, you immediately immerse yourself into strict surgery. There is no place for emotions and sentiments here. Only skillfulness, maturity of actions, professional competence and mutual understanding help to achieve high results.

Availability of medical equipment of the latest generation is impressive. It is up-to-date x-ray, ultrasonic and laser devices as well as modern methods of laboratory diagnostics. There are computerized tomography scanners of the latest generation, which help to examine on the sections tissues and organs of a human in details.

An operating room – the heart of the clinic is equipped with up-to-date anesthetic equipment. It includes heart and lung machines, artificial respirators, anesthetic machines, and an operating table, which has a multifunctional system, modern operating room surgical lamps, electro surgery devices and modern microscopes. Operating surgical console with the supply of medical gases: oxygen, carbon dioxide, compressed air and vacuum boggles the imagination. We were made aware of the clean room system: laminar flow of fresh air in the operating room allows achieving sterility in the operating room for a long time. We had a look at the pre surgical rooms for scrub-up of a surgeon and a pre surgical room for an anesthetist before transferring a patient into the surgery.

Imagine Clinique

The most part of our study was held at internal disease department of "Imagine" clinic. Manuel and Rafael Salvadors brothers, who were ready to share with knowledge and experience with great pleasure.

Nowadays, cancer is a plague of XXI century. According to statistics, unfortunately, each 2 person suffers from cancer and one of 3 women suffers from

breast cancer. It goes without saying that right and early-determined different pathological changings plays vital role in patient’s morbidity.

Leonardo Montaner, who opened for us nuances of mammography and radiology, provided classes for us.We had honor to attend classes of Rheumatology and Radiology, which were conducted by Manuel Salvador. Additionally, Xavier Barellas provided classes of Nephrology and Cardiology.

In conclusion, we want to express words of gratitude to GSM Barcelona for such amazing knowledge that we have got. We appreciate for their hospitability and warm attitude.
