"Journalism is a profession or a calling?»

20 November 2015

Casting called “Journalism is a profession or a calling?” was held on November 5, 2015 year at KSMU. The organizers of the competition were women's club “Ақжүніс” and student organization – students’ republic culture Ministry “Samruk”. The organization was carried out independently and this fact indicates to the confidence of the University towards students. In KSMU this is the beginning of what the students transferred to the active roles, from participation to organization. And independent organization of this competition was evaluated by an independent expert jury. Independent experts were employees of media and television, employees of KSMU. Zhanbota Rahmatululy – chief editor of the regional TV "Kazakhstan-Karaganda", Azarova Nadezhda Georgievna – head of public relations department of KSMU, Kobenova Kuralay Zhumagalievna – editor, host of "Nashe radio", Najaryan Lilit Kamoevna - specialist at the Department of medical education, Aubakirova Anar Amangeldievna – lecturer, medical education Department, Ungarbayeva Aygul Amanzholovna – the chief of Department on work with youth. The main principle of the judging – was objectivity and independence. The main principles of judgment were objectivity and independent opinion.

The contest involves 3 stages. Stage 1 – the screening of self-edited video, the 2 stage – attempt to realize yourself in the role of speaker, stage 3- essay writing. Each stage was assessed on a 10 – point scale, the only lack of the assessment was the absent of indicators. It has been reviewed in the process of the presentations the participants, for example one of the participants of Motokhov Ivan showed a high artistic and professional manufacturing of Stand Up, Kenesova Alua showed excellent diction, somebody shows himself in the role of editor, producer. The objectivity of independent experts can attest to the fact that Azarova N. G. – the head of public relations department of KSMU within two stages has revealed an unequal position of the participants. Participant was offered the video he had to comment on it. But other participants received the video in the form of news or documental fragments, and the video for that participant was presented in the form of feature film fragment and it was not correctly to give comments to this video. And it was the violation.  By remark of Azarova N. G. the offense was taken into account and corrected.

During the event the students of medical University in addition to academic activity have shown their creativity in journalism. Really for judging was a complete surprise such bright performances and organization of the event, it was said after the presentations of the participants. Each participant showed his talents in different categories from sports to political news. It is very important not only to have talent, but also to support and promote it. Therefore, in future all participants will be involved in media coverage of KSMU. Participants will be trained in the skills of the media and thus reinforce their capacity, knowledge and will be able to work in the information domain of KSMU on professional level. The information flows through the prism of television and it is one of the effective tools in the information space. It is better absorbed and will help to engage all students in terms of learning information, which will be served the latest news and events. Thus, one more problem will be resolved - it is disinformation. Thanks to all independent experts, participants, spectators. The article our community of journalists is the first stage of journalism, you can start open. There are a lot of events in the way of our activities.
