According to the memorandum of cooperation between Karaganda state medical university and Samarkand state medical institute, dated on 4^th of February 2013, 4^th year students of general medicine and stomatology faculty (KSMU) held practical training from the 3rd of June to the 4^th of July as “Medical attendant” and “Assistant of dentist” in SSMI clinics in Samarkand.

During practical training, the students took part in morning conferences, in ward rounds with doctors and heads of departments, bandaging and carrying out wounds, also they independently supervised their patients. In surgical and obstetrics/gynecological departments they assisted in different performing surgery and also they took an active part in childbirth. Due to dean of medical faculty Dr. Mavlyanova Sh.H., the students visited Republican clinic of SSMI where they held practice in departments of internal diseases #2, surgical diseases #2, obstetrics/gynecology and childhood diseases. In addition, students visited City clinic, where they held practice under the guidance of Dr. Shodikulova G.Z. in such departments as: internal diseases #1 and surgical diseases #1. Students held practice under the guidance of Dr. Atakulov D.O. in Science center of Pediatric surgery. Each head of practice very kindly met the students, introduced departments’ history and led excursion.

In internal diseases department the students supervised patients, diagnosed and composed plan of treatment.

In obstetrics/gynecology department the students who want work in this branch in the future (Madiyar Suleymenov, Yulduz Akhmetova, Aliya Abedchanova) participated in childbirth and caesarian section, performed different manipulations in diagnosis and treatment of gynecological diseases. The students especially thanks head of obstetrics/gynecology department in Republican clinic of SSMI Dr. Sabirova S.E. and Dr. Mamarasulov D. for their support and promotion the accumulation of practical skills on the way to becoming a doctor.

Due to warm recept on of heads of the University, the practice in Samarkand left awesome impression in each of us. We especially thanks faculty for experience, patience and labor that you invested in us in such a short time.
