Neurology and neurorehabilitation today: theory, practice, innovations

On November 6-7, 2014 an International scientific-practical conference "Neurology and Neurorehabilitation today: theory, practice and innovation” was held with great success in KSMU.

The conference participants - representatives from all regions of Kazakhstan, Moscow, St. Petersburg - in the amount of 250 people discussed the improvement of the system of patients with neurological diseases care. Conference topics included versatile coverage of relevant cross-subject issues related to this problem.

The following leading experts, scientists from Kazakhstan and Russia addressed at the Conference: Academy of Natural Sciences, Professor A.I.Fedin, Professor of I.S.Preobrazhenskaya, Professor G.E.Ivanova, chief physiotherapist of MH of Russia, Associate Professor Medical University “First MSMU named of Sechenov” I.A. Strokov, heads of departments of neurology professor Abdrakhmanova MG (Karaganda), Duschanova GA (Shymkent), Kamenova SU (Almaty), Nurguzhaev ES (Almaty), Kayshibaeva GS (Almaty), heads of departments of neurosurgery professor Zhanaydarov JS (Almaty), Associate Professor NI Tursynov (Karaganda).

The following main themes were discussed during reports: improving the quality of neurological care of stroke patients with motor and cognitive impairment, the introduction of new surgical methods of treatment of patients with cerebral aneurysms and injuries of the spine and spinal cord, as well as herniated cervical spine and Parkinson's disease, the new technologies in the treatment of perinatal neurology, epileptology were discussed.

A large number of papers were devoted to the problems of rehabilitation of patients with various neurological diseases. Presentations on neurorehabilitation of stroke patients, including cognitive rehabilitation were of particular interest.

Also a master class "Neurorehabilitation patients with cerebrovascular disease" was held within the conference, which was conducted by the Department of Neurology KSMU (Professor M.G. Abdrakhmanova, acting prof. T.T. Kispaeva, Associate Professor R.A. Belyaev and professor of the department of rehabilitation and sports medicine of medical University RNMU of N.I. Pirogov, chief physiotherapist of MH of Russia G.E. Ivanov. The application of modern technologies in rehabilitation of cerebrovascular disease: on determination of evaluation of the rehabilitation of the diagnosis and the multidisciplinary team were discussed at the master-class.

Listeners of the master class were not only presented the lecture material and practical classes in the form of slides, but also conducted the training on various methods of early neurorehabilitation of patients with cerebrovascular disease.

These skills and knowledge will help ensure the early neurorehabilitation in patients with cerebrovascular disease.

  Participants of the workshop were 88 people, including doctors of practical health: neurologists of Karaganda (CMCs, NC GTiPZ, OC Tio them. Prof.H.Zh. Makazhanova, clinic and hospital "Hippocrates", "Merey" "Avicenna", LLP "Intern", EDO, Clinics №№1,3,4,5) and other cities (Moscow, Almaty, Astana, Zhezkazgan, Balkhash, Kostanay, Shymkent, Petropavlovsk, Satpayev, Turkestan, Pavlodar, Temirtau, Abay, Kokshetau); therapeutic profile specialists (recreation therapist, physiotherapist, psychiatrists, and others.) and staff of KSMU (Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery, FITUR, Department of Physiology, Department of Neurology, Department of AFP Rehabilitation).

The held conference brought a warm response from the audience

The following resolution was adopted at the conference:

To expand the network of stroke centers and "School of stroke" in the medical institutions of Karaganda region, to actively introduce preventive methods and program of work with the relatives of patients with stroke in the framework of the "School of stroke".
