On October 9, at 16:00 the meeting with the 1st-year students of “General medicine” was held in Karaganda State Medical University. The organizers of the meeting were employees of the department of educational and social work with students, the Commission for religious extremism and terrorism prevention of the Council of educational work. The naib-imam of the city mosque №1 H.Zh. Beysenbaev was invited to this event.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the Commission for religious extremism and terrorism prevention of the Council of educational work T.V. Mustafina told the participants about the aims and objectives of the meeting, about the negative influence of the pseudo-religious movements on the minds of people, especially young people in the modern world. The main signs of the above-mentioned organizations were noted to admonish from the destructive dogmas of nontraditional religious organizations.

Naib-imam H.Zh.Beysenbayev, quoting Al-Farabi, drew the students’ attention to the fact that the study of science, the accumulation of knowledge is an essential requirement of a Muslim. Under the influence of foreign radical religious centers an idea, that our country is gradually becoming a religious state, is widely sold. This statement is not true. In order to prevent the possible departures of our citizens in trouble spots outside the country, the traditional values ​​of Islam and interreligious harmony in the country must be better promoted.

The students asked the questions about “salaf” notion, specified about namaz reading during the study, about permission or prohibition in Islam to listen to music. Naib-imam H.Zh.Beysenbayev, referring to Hadiths, gave comprehensive answers to these questions. Also the students offered to conduct classes in their free time to study and clarify the fundamental theological aspects of Islam.

At the end of the meeting the students received the religious literature approved by Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan, the Committee for Religious Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
