We discussed the construction project of a modern university clinic

Vice-President of the Asian Development Bank Ashok Lavas paid a working visit to the Karaganda Medical University on June 10, 2022.

The visit began with a business meeting of the guests with the management of the university, where they discussed the project of building their own university clinic with a capacity of 300 beds, within the framework of public-private partnership.

  For your information, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan has decided to build five university hospitals, including the city of Karaganda, during the implementation of the current national project "Healthy Nation" until 2025. The Asian Development Bank has been engaged by the Ministry of Health to provide consulting services to support the concession project for the construction of this university clinic.

The creation of the facility includes: a round-the-clock hospital with 300 beds, including the department of anesthesiology, intensive care and intensive care, dynamic observation beds, beds for mother and child cohabitation, reception and examination boxes that are not part of the bed fund, as well as a consultative and diagnostic center for 150 visits, laboratories, an outpatient center surgery, simulation center and much more.

  The round-the-clock hospital will be represented by all specialized departments with centers of surgery, internal medicine, cardiology and angiosurgery, uronephrology. The hospital building is supposed to house a computer tomograph, digital X-ray machines, magnetic resonance imaging, angiographic equipment, remote lithotriptor.

  For the full and high-quality provision of medical care to the population, as well as ensuring the operation of all vital processes of the clinic, the creation of 1084 jobs (1129 staff units) is provided.

  As it was noted at the meeting by the Vice-President of the Asian Development Bank Ashok Lavas, the model of public-private partnership is gaining momentum all over the world and the scope of application of this model is quite diverse.

Acting Chairman of the Board-rector of the "Medical University of Karaganda" NCJSC - Turmukhambetova Anar Akylbekovna stressed that the Karaganda region is the leader in the Republic of Kazakhstan in terms of implementing PPP projects and in particular in the field of healthcare. She also thanked the representatives of the Asian Development Bank for their support and interest in the university clinic construction project, expressing hope for fruitful cooperation in this direction.

  The guests visited the Center of Educational and Simulation Technologies of the "Medical University of Karaganda" NCJSC and met with foreign students studying at the International Medical Faculty of the university.
