A delegation of doctors from China arrived to the Karaganda region under the agreement of the Head of State K.K. Tokaev with the President of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Xi Jinping, on the full support of Kazakhstan from China in the fight against the new coronavirus infection COVID-19, . It consists of infectious disease doctors, pulmonologists, nephrologists, intensive care physicians and a head nurse with experience in the fight against the new coronavirus infection COVID-19. 

On April 15, the first day of the stay of Chinese doctors in the Karaganda region has been ended. The first official visit of the delegation was to the Medical University of Karaganda, where a conference was held in video mode with various medical organizations and a number of specialists in the region. The guests were met by the rector of the university R.S. Dosmagambetova, Head of the Regional Health Department E.Sh. Nurlybaev, the head of the Department of quality control and safety of goods and services of the Karaganda region K.K. Askarov. 

The conference was opened by the deputy akim of Karaganda, J.R. Shalabekov, who cordially greeted the delegation and expressed gratitude for the visit, as well as for the help that China provides us .

The rector of the Medical University of Karaganda R.S. Dosmagambetova reported on what work the university is doing to interact with practical health care. University specialists are directly involved in the development of clinical protocols, recommendations for the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19. Two university clinics have been converted into provisional hospitals, where clinicians and university residents are working. The rector especially emphasized that the educational activity of the university does not stop for a minute: students, teachers and employees have fully mastered distance learning methods and process management, the quality of which has not been affected.

The Medical University of Karaganda plans to use a unique molecular genetic laboratory in scientific research on the mechanisms of development of COVID-19 and the formation of immunity to the disease. 

Raushan Sultanovna pointed out that at the present time the university is also responsible for the health of thousands of foreign students who were unable to travel to their homeland and live in a university dormitory. 

In response, the head of the Chinese delegation, deputy governor of the Ili-Kazakh Autonomous Region, Mr. Yershat Tursynbay, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome. The guest made a special emphasis on the support that Kazakhstan provided to China, the first to come to grips with the new infection. The head of the delegation gave a famous proverb that a friend is in need. It was the friendly relations between China and Kazakhstan and the personal contacts of the Heads of our states that ensured the interaction of Chinese and Kazakh doctors. 

The delegation includes 10 specialists, eight of whom are doctors, epidemiologists of clinics and research centers of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. All of them were directly involved in overcoming the spread of COVID and in treating patients. The accumulated experience - according to the guest - will be useful to Kazakhstani colleagues in the struggle for people's lives and will help curb the spread of infection. Already now, Vice-Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan L. Aktayeva announced that more than five thousand medical workers took part in training webinars and conferences held by the Chinese delegation. 

Mr. Yershat Tursynbay thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Chinese Embassy in Kazakhstan for organizing the visit, and the journalists covering the course of the working visit of Chinese doctors. 

Conference Speakers - E.Sh. Nurlybaev, K.K. Askarov, R.S. Dosmagambetova, in turn, thanked the Chinese colleagues for their solidarity, high professionalism, sincere desire to contribute to the struggle that Kazakhstan is leading against the COVID 19 pandemic.
The visit of Chinese doctors will continue throughout the week.
