Nailya DeLellis, associate Professor of Central Michigan University (USA), was working in the framework of the Fulbright Specialist program at the school of public health, Biomedicine and pharmacy of Karaganda Medical University from 22 to 29 November 2019.

  Program of John. William Fulbright was founded in 1946 to promote mutual harmony between the American people and people from around the world. Today, the Fulbright program is one of the most recognized and prestigious programs in the world. Hundreds of graduates of this program around the world hold high positions in politics, education, journalism and the private sector. Thirty-nine alumni of the Fulbright program from eleven countries were awarded the Nobel prize (including Muhammad Yunus and Milton Friedman). Eighteen graduates of the program have led governments or held senior government positions (including former Brazilian President Cardoso and former Swedish Prime Minister Carlsson). A graduate of the Fulbright program Boutros Boutros-Ghali served as General Secretary of the UN. 

  Fulbright grants are awarded through an open competition. This contributes to the fair selection of the most deserving candidates and to the achievement of the objective of the programme, namely, mutual understanding and benefit by contributing to the communities not only of the host country but also of the home country.

  Professor Nailya DeLellis has lectured to faculty members and master degree students of the School of Public Health, Biomedicine and Pharmacy on topics such as: The Experience of analyzing the University of Michigan curriculum in public health, requirements for accreditation of educational programs in public health, health economics, epidemiology in management, research methods in health.

Also, lectures were given to students of doctoral research school, specifically about how to create doctoral work in American universities, what are the options for dissertations. The lecturer gave important recommendations on finding information in English and collecting statistical analysis, recommendations on selected scientific topics and research design, and many other issues.
