International student foreign languages’ olympiad

A student of group 4-020a GM Chahar Shivam took the third place in the prestigious International student foreign languages’ Olympiad ​​in the “Russian as a Foreign Language” nomination. The Olympiad is held annually at the bases of universities in Russia and the countries of Central Asia. This year, the Olympiad took KSU named after E.A. Buketov. It was attended by teams from 34 universities of Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and China. Students demonstrated knowledge of 5 foreign languages: English, German, French, Chinese, Russian as a foreign language. The purpose of the Olympiad is to develop the motivation to learn foreign languages ​​in the context of intercultural integration.

15 students of the Medical University of Karaganda participated in the Olympiad in Russian as a foreign language. These are citizens of the Republic of India and the Mongolian People’s Republic. In a tough competition where philology students from China were the main contenders, Sairangul Huatbek (group 2-002 Stom), Chahar Shivam (group 4-020a GM), Mirza Parvez Bhaig (group 4-022a GM), Kartike Kansal (group 3-005a GM) made their way into the final. Chahar Shivam, having demonstrated a high level of proficiency in all language competencies, took third place, behind only a philology student from China and a participant from Kyrgyzstan.

The Organizing Committee of the Olympiad sent a letter of thanks to the rector of the Medical University of Karaganda R.S. Dosmagambetova, noting that our team was the most active and numerous.

According to the participants, the Olympiad gave them new acquaintances and vivid impressions, and most importantly, it was another step in the development of communication in Russian.
