In accordance with the 78^th step of the Nation Plan – 100 specific steps to implement the five institutional reforms of the Head of the State N. Nazarbayev, republican state enterprises subordinated to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan are re-organized into joint-stock companies.

Thus, according to Government Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 646 of October 16, 2018, the non-commercial joint-stock company Medical University of Karaganda was established at the end of January by merging and transforming KSMU and the National Center for Labor Hygiene and Occupational Diseases of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The legal registration of the established Company has already been completed, the assessment of the net assets (equity) for issuing securities into circulation has been completed. After the transfer of shares (all of them are 100% owned by the state) to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Board of Directors will be created as the highest governing body of the NC JSC “Medical University of Karaganda”. In the future, a non-commercial joint-stock company will adopt a new strategic route and plan for the development of the university.

Change of legal status entails other changes, in the manner prescribed by applicable law. Karaganda Medical University will continue to train highly qualified medical personnel, and specialists in the field of occupational health and occupational diseases will continue to work to improve the situation related to occupational morbidity in the country. The team of the formerNational Centre for Labour Hygiene and Occupational Diseases remains in the same building (at Mustafin st., 15), and becomes an employee of the Institute of Public Health and Professional Health in the framework of the activities of NC JSC "MUK". A school of Public Health and a sanitary-hygienic laboratory, previously located in the main building of the medical university, has also settled there.

Z.Z. Bekturganov was appointed as the authorized person for the implementation of the Company's financial and business activities (until the election of the Board of Directors), and the Acting Head of the Institute of Public Health is M.K. Teleuov.
