In any language there are many ways to say the word "woman", but in none of them the female gender is interpreted as strong. Gentle, weak, beautiful, but never strong. And this is not because there are no strong women in the world, but because for every strong woman, there is a man who is 10 times stronger.

According to “World Health Organization”, on average, every third woman in the world is exposed to various types of violence. This problem frightens not only by its scale, but also by the effects on the health of a female half of world’s population.On December 13, the students of Karaganda State Medical University, that are members of the Committee on Sexual and Reproductive Health including HIV/AIDS (SCORA) of the Kazakhstan Medical Students Association KazMSA, held an event at the university that raises the issue of violence against women. The students from all courses, were involved in that event, which is very important, because knowledge is power, no matter how old you are. The organizers chose informativeness as the main method of struggle. To all those present in the room  a presentation illustrating the general information about violence such as types, causes, consequences, as well as world statistics was shown. In addition, an activity with audience was held: the students chose how they would act in various situations related to the topic of the event.Based on the answers and reactions girls gave, advice on how to behave in controversial, difficult situations was given. Moreover, the organizers showed exactly which techniques can and should be used in the case of an attack.

Such events are important not only for  females, but also for the male half of the population, because the whole world needs to fight, not just its half. For this reason, we, students encourage everyone not to turn a blind eye to the problem, but to fight it and do it together!
