On 7th -8th of June, 2018, Nazarbayev University held the seventh conference of leaders of higher education. The theme of the conference was devoted to the Innovations of higher education in the era of breakthrough (innovative) technologies. The conference was visited by the deputy director of the Center for Transfer of Innovative Technologies Guldana Akhmetova and the director of the Center for Practical Skills Gulshat Kemelova. The conference was attended by international experts and leaders in the field of higher education reform, Prof. Jamil Salmi (USA), Professor Laura Poole-Warren (University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia), Professor Annie Lo (Senior Vice President and Chief Officer in Asia Pacific, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) Singapore), Dr. Stavros Yiannouka (Chief Executive Officer, World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) Doha, Qatar). Speakers of the conference discussed essential issues of time, such as digitalization of education, increasing the role of Massive Open Online Courses in the educational process, the need to move to the student individual learning trajectory. These and other issues will be useful in the development of new educational programs to enhance the pedagogical qualification of the teaching staff of medical education organizations, as the qualitative preparation of graduates to uncertain professions of the future will depend on the creativity of a teacher.
