From 29thMay to 2nd June, a training course on Internationalization of Higher Education with the participation of universities from partner-countries was held on the basis of the Superior Technical Institute of Lisbon (Portugal).

The training program included masterclasses, discussions, as well as presentations by representatives of universities from Portugal, Spain, Sweden, France and Estonia.

The presentations of participants were conducted on following topics: ‘Internationalization Policy and Strategy’, ‘Strategic Planning’, ‘Support Service’, ‘Mobility and Cooperation’, ‘International Rankings’,’ Double Diploma and Employment’, ‘Exchange Programs / Summer Schools ".

The participants shared their experience in planning and implementation the Strategy of Internationalization, activities within the exchange program of teaching staff, students, and trainings for university staff. In addition, there was noted the importance of rankings and the idea of ​​involving all employees in the process of internationalization for the effective operation of university.

The program was completed with the final reports of participants on the topics covered in the framework of Internationalization. By the end of the seminar, all participants were given certificates.

Implementation of the Erasmus + Action 2 Project "Enhancing capacity in higher education" "WELCOME" - "Towards incoming international university communities " has started in 2016. The kick-off meeting took place from 6-8 March 2017 at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (Barcelona, ​​Spain), which is the coordinator of the project.

The main objective of the Project is to strengthen the international activity of universities in Kazakhstan and China through the introduction of strategic and marketing techniques to attract foreign students, teachers and researchers.

The duration of the project is 3 years.
