On the 30th CODEX Alimentarius Commission session

The jubilee 30th session of the CODEX Alimentarius Commission was held from 3 to 7 October, 2016 in Astana. CODEX Alimentarius is an international organization that coordinates work on the introduction and application of food standards. The session was attended by delegates from 52 countries. In total, the commission includes about 190 countries, including the Republic of Kazakhstan since 2003. The first day of the session was devoted to the problem of antibiotic resistance to antimicrobial agents (AMR) in terms of food safety Code. CCEURO members decided the questions that can help in improving and advancing the work of the Code of AMR at the regional and global levels. It was said that the fight against AMR in the food supply chain requires action and innovative solutions on a national, regional and global scale.

Karaganda state medical university was honored to provide the CODEX Alimentarius Secretariat and delegates from different countries (Germany, Norway, the Netherlands, USA, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and other) the vision of the problem at the level of healthcare and to make a presentation «Antibiotic resistance. Local view at the global problem». The report represented the researcher of Share Laboratory A. V. Lavrinenko, who emphasized the problem of antibiotic resistance in Central Kazakhstan in her speech.

We thank the organizers of the 30 CODEX Alimentarius session and the Committee for the protection of rights of consumers of Kazakhstan for the opportunity to participate in this event.
