The Department of Infectious Diseases was organized in 1953 on the basis of the Regional Infectious Clinical Hospital.

The department is preparing students of specialties 5В130100-General Medicine, 5В110200-ZiV 1208-Health and Diseases, 5B130200-Dentistry on the subject "Infectious Diseases" in the amount of baccalaureate programs, 5B110100-Nursing. The elective discipline “Especially dangerous infections” is provided for the specialty 5В110200-Public Health. From 2012-2013 academic year, interns of the specialty 5В130100-General Medicine in the areas of "Internal Diseases" and "General Medical Practice" are studying  at the department. At the level of postgraduate education in the volume of the residency educational program in the specialty 6R111300 "Infectious diseases, including children", 8 residents of the first year of study, 7 residents of the second year of study are currently studying.

Professors and associate professors work at the department:

Kim Antonina Arkadievna, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Professor. Pedagogical work experience - 28 years, clinical work experience - 34 years. After graduating from the clinical internship, she worked at the Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, since 2001 she has been staffed by the Department of Infectious Diseases. From 2012 to 2018, she headed the department of infectious diseases and dermatovenereology of KSMU as a head. Research interests: hepatology, socially significant infections. PhD thesis on the topic "Chronic viral hepatitis B and D in children", supervisor of prof. A.P. Kuperstein.

She has more than 70 publications and 2 teaching aids She is a co-author of the textbooks “Internal Diseases” of the Modules “Gastroenterology”, “Pulmonology”, “Hematology”, 7 certificates on intellectual property. Has developed 13 Clinical protocols of the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases.

 Infectious diseases specialist of the highest qualification category. She is an independent expert in assessing the quality of medical services.

Rakhimbaeva Raisa Ahmetbekovna, Candidate of Medical Science, associate professor. After graduating from the target postgraduate studies at COLIUV in Moscow in 1981 she defended her dissertation at the I MGMI named Pirogov. She has 35 scientific publications. She was awarded the badge "Kazakhstan Republica Densaulyk Saktau іsіnіn үzdіgіne", has numerous encouragements and gratitude.

Timchenko Natalia Aleksandrova, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor. She works with the issues of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of infectious diseases, helminthic infections, HIV and AIDS, immune deficiency, applying the latest advances in medical science in their practical work. She is author of more than 40 publications, 2 teaching aids, 1 rationalization proposal, has 2 introductions into practice, 1 copyright certificate on intellectual property.

Sarsekeeva  Nazgul Esentaevna, PhD, associate professor of the department. In August 2013 she defended her dissertation, receiving a master's degree in Medicine. In 2016 she defended her doctoral dissertation for the degree of doctor PhD, KSMU. Research interests: HIV infection, opportunistic infections. She is author of more than 40 publications, has 1 copyright certificate on intellectual property. She is teaching in Russian, Kazakh, English. She is responsible for teaching students in English. Lecturing, conducting classes in Russian, Kazakh, English.

Zhunussov Yerzhan Seipolovich, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department. Doctor of the highest category in "Infectious diseases". Experience teaching work - 13 years, clinical work - 13 years. Research interests: Rational pharmacotherapy of infectious diseases, IUI, viral hepatitis. Master's thesis defense on the topic: “Hepatoprotectors in the complex therapy of chronic viral hepatitis”, 2013, KSMU. Supervisor: Professor Kosherova B.N. Doctoral thesis defense for the PhD degree on the topic: “Drug monitoring of antiplatelet agents in patients with a high risk of coronary artery restenosis,” 2017. KazNMU. Asfendiyarov HM RK.   Beisenova Gulzhakhan Rakhimbaevna, Assistant Professor of the Department. After graduating from the Karaganda Medical Institute, she was trained in clinical internship in the specialty “Infectious Diseases”. Since 1995 she has been working as an assistant at the department. She is a performer of a scientific grant on the problem of vaccine-preventable infections. She performs office work in the state language. Doctor of the highest qualification category. Has thanks and encouragement.

Kolmogorova Ekaterina Leonidovna, Assistant Professor of the Department. She organizes and controls the educational process in the scope of the bachelor and internship programs, actively implements innovative teaching methods. She performs a lot of methodical work. She created an educational and methodological complex for interns in the field of Infectious Diseases in the areas of Internal Diseases, General Practice, a base of situational tasks, tests. She is the secretary of the department meetings. Doctor of the highest qualification category. Has thanks and encouragement.

Haiyrova Ulmeken Orymbaevna, assistant professor of the department. After graduating from the Karaganda Medical Institute, she was trained in clinical internship in the specialty “Infectious Diseases”. Since 1995 she has been working as an assistant at the department. In 2014 she passed the primary specialization in ultrasound diagnostics. She created an educational and methodical complex for students in the field of Infectious diseases in the direction of Dentistry. Currently she is carrying out medical and diagnostic work in the NAO MUK Clinic. Has gratitude and encouragement from the university and the management of health care.

Mansurova Tamara Petrovna, department assistant. She has extensive practical experience and knowledge in infectology, for decades she was the head of the intensive care department of the Regional Infectious Diseases Hospital. She is a mentor for students of the 4th course of the specialty General Medicine.

 Auesbayeva Shynar Kairzhanovna, teaching experience - 1 year, clinical work - 3 years. Scientific interest - helminthology. She conducts classes in Russian, Kazakh, English.

 Daulenova Aidana Esengeldievna, teaching experience - 2 years, clinical work - 3 years. Scientific interest - helminthology. She conducts classes in Russian, Kazakh, English.

Beimbetova Marzhan Rymkhanovna, Assistant Professor of the Department, Dermatovenereology responsible for the discipline. In 2015 she defended her master's dissertation, receiving a Master's degree in Medicine. She is author of more than 20 publications, has 1 textbook, 1 copyright certificate on intellectual property. She organizes and controls the educational process on the basis of the Regional Dermatovenerologic Dispensary. She teaches in Russian, Kazakh, has created the UMKD on the discipline in two languages.  Katpagulova Nurgul Adambekovna, a laboratory assistant with the highest level of qualification, has been working at the department since 2012, is responsible for clerical work.

 Tleubaeva Saule Kairatovna, a laboratory assistant with the highest level of qualification, has been working at the department since 2013, she has done a lot of work in the area of ​​civil defense, annually takes an active part in the Games of the faculty and employees of the IJSC MUK.

Mukasheva Madina Khamzeevna, a laboratory assistant with the highest level of qualification, has been working at the department since 2013, is responsible for clerical work.

 Employees of the department are constantly working to improve the pedagogical and qualification level, improve the educational process, take part in international conferences, conduct master classes.

 The medical process of the department is carried out on the basis of the Regional Infectious Hospital and Clinic of the NAO MUK. Employees of the department perform advisory work, supervise patients, travel through the air ambulance to assist in medical institutions of the city, Karaganda region, the Republic of Kazakhstan.

 The main direction of the scientific activity of the department is “Prediction of the risk of the incidence of vaccine-preventable infections (measles, viral hepatitis B) in the Republic of Kazakhstan”. From the moment of the department’s organization, 2 doctoral and 2 candidate’s, 3 master’s and 2 PhD dissertations have been defended.
