The educational process at the Department of Biology is carried out according to the following educational programs prepared by the department staff and included in the register of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan: “6В05101 Biomedicine” in field “6В051 Biological and Related Sciences” (undergraduate); “7M05101 Biologist-researcher” (profile area), “7M05101 Biologist-researcher” (scientific and pedagogical field) and “7M05103 Biomedicine” (scientific and pedagogical field) in the direction of preparation “7М051 Biological and related sciences” (master's program); "7M10105 Cellular Engineering" (scientific and pedagogical field) and "7M10105 Cellular Biology, Genetics and Pathology" (scientific and pedagogical field) in the field of preparation "7M101 Health" (master's degree).
Based on the above general education programs, students in all specialties receive deep fundamental and applied knowledge in the fields of molecular biology, cell biology and genetics.
The scientific direction of the department is molecular and cellular research in normal and pathological conditions.
