The main activity of the military department is to train highly qualified reserve medical officers to the extent necessary for the performance of their duties according to their assignment in peacetime and wartime. In this connection, the department pays much attention to inculcate students with the skills necessary for the performance of duties in accordance with their mission, to know firmly and skillfully implement the basic principles of organization and conduct of medical evacuation, sanitary-hygienic and anti-epidemic measures in wartime and peacetime conditions, have sufficient organizational skills.

After the training program on military training, students pass a comprehensive final exam and at the end of the university will be certified as an officer of the reserve.

The department employs reserve officers and retired officers with practical experience in the military and medical institutions.

The faculty of the department actively participate sits in international, republican scientific and practical, Internet conferences, they have published more than 100 scientific articles and talking points, including in foreign publications with an impact factor 5, received 1 patent, 5 certificates of state registration of copyright rights. Twenty-eight textbooks and textbooks at the national level were published in printing.
