A debate tournament dedicated to the International Day against smoking was held in Karaganda state medical university on November 14, on a theme “Young people are against smoking".

The state annually spends significant means on realization of events on the explanation to the population of all malignancy of smoking addiction. The new, more perfect methods of giving this harmful habit up are developed. One of the priority aims of realization of international day of fight against smoking is propaganda of the laws imposing the ban on the advertisement of cigarettes. It is suggested also to toughen measures on a fight against smoking in public places, considerably to increase the cost of tobacco wares - the whole complex of the events to limit the consumption of tobacco is developed.

  19 teams of our university took part in a debate tournament. The official format of the tournament was АPF (American parliamentary format) and LD (Lincoln-Douglas), as most widespread among the participants of debates in Kazakhstan. Kazakh was the official language.

  After hot discussions and hot debates on the most actual themes, competent judges summed up the results of tournament: by the unanimous decision of judicial assembly the first place was conquered by the faction "Bolashak", on the second place was the faction "Alem" and the faction "Амanat" got the good third place got.

  The best in nominations were: Izetov Nurlybek, Маlikaydar Ayzhan, Zarlykova Ulzhan, Duysenbek  Аkmaral, Myrzageldy Zeynur and Seydaly Еrzat.

In the nomination the “Best speaker” the following people became the winners: Аbdipatta Aydana, Еskermes Zhansaya and Span Nurgul.

The winners of debate tournament got the award diplomas, and all teams got certificates for active participation.
