The Clinical Skills Center hosted the workshop for paramedics of MIA medical service on September 15-17, 2014. The aim of this workshop was to train the participants to provide the emergency premedical care using the predefined set of skills and algorithms.

The participants practiced using clinical scenarios in high fidelity simulator SimMan 3G, interactive child-birthing simulator and other multifunctional simulators.

The participants learned how to provide CPR to adults and children, to secure the airways, mobilize and transport the traumatized patient with improvised means, stop the bleeding, help the overheated, hypothermic, drowned patients, treat the burns, and deliver babies in emergent situations.

They had opportunity to practice several times in different situations and using different simulators. All scenarios were complemented with debriefing to correct the mistakes and improve performance.

The participants valued the high quality of the workshop, the visual and practical application to real-life situations. They also valued the debriefing opportunities and expressed the desire to participate in similar workshops in the future.
