«Maastricht VI Consensus: What's new in the diagnosis and treatment of Helicobacter pylori?»
The meeting of the Journal Club was conducted at the Department
of Internal Medicine on January 26, where interdisciplinary approaches to the
diagnosis and treatment of diseases associated with Helicobacter pylori were
discussed.The
meeting was attended by undergraduate students of the School of Medicine, residents
of the 1st and 2nd year of various therapeutic profile, doctors and healthcare
representatives.
Zhirenbaeva A.M. and Igenbekova A.T. the residents in gastroenterology 1st year of study, also resident 2nd year of study in the specialty "Clinical Pharmacology" Ayat Zh.B. ad resident hematologist 2nd year Antonova N.E. presented their reports. The new provisions of the Maastricht VI consensus on 5 main working groups were discussed, such asindications and associations, diagnosis, treatment, gastric cancer and prevention, Helicobacter pylori and gastric microbiota with the focus this provisions.Resident gastroenterologists highlighted the issues of diagnosing H.Pylori infection, indications for eradication, spoke about measures to prevent gastric cancer, changes in the microbiota of the gastrointestinal tract associated with antibiotic therapy.The data of the effectiveness of H. Pylori eradication therapy for iron deficiency anemia, immune thrombocytopenia, vitamin B-12 deficiency anemia were presented by a resident hematologist. The resident of the specialty of clinical pharmacology announced the treatment regimens for H. pylori.The importance of eradication therapy for chronic gastritis associated with H. pylori was emphasized in discussion.
The choice of empiric schemes for the treatment of H.pylori infection was discussed, taking into account the data of local resistance of H.pylori to clarithromycin. After the speech of each speaker, the discussion was held active, the participants shared their experience, the results were summed up at the end of the meeting.The meeting was held in a very warm atmosphere over a cup of coffee with colleagues. Thus, this atmosphere contributed to a better perception of information.
