Discussed the integration of UNFPA training courses with the university program
The leadership of "Karaganda Medical University" NJSC and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) establish long-term partnerships by signing a Memorandum of Understanding.
The Memorandum provides for the integration of the following UNFPA training courses into the university curriculum:
1. Provision of family planning services and modern contraceptives;
2. Youth friendly health services;
3. Providing basic assistance to survivors of gender-based violence;
4. Ensuring the quality of inpatient perinatal care.
“The system of medical education should provide future doctors with the latest knowledge. UNFPA courses are designed for both face-to-face and online learning. We believe that they will be useful for students, and this will certainly have a positive impact on improving maternal health in the country, as well as reducing maternal mortality,” said Ronnie Lindstrom-UNFPA Representative in Kazakhstan.
