On February 15, at the military department of the Medical University of Karaganda events were held to honor the Afghan warriors in honor of the 32nd anniversary of the withdrawal of the Limited contingent of Soviet troops from Afghanistan.

The head of the military department, reserve colonel Jienbaev B.A., the senior lecturer and retired lieutenant colonel Elemesov Т.В., the senior lecturer of the retired medical service colonel, took part in the solemn laying of wreaths and flowers at the memorial complex in honor of the soldiers who died in Afghanistan; Baltynov G.Z. and first year students in the Reserve Officers Program.

Among the invited guests were veterans of the Afghan war, veterans of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan: cavalier of the Order of the Red Star, retired lieutenant colonel Gabdrakipov Flit Uzbekovich, senior lecturer of the military department of KSMU from 1993 to 2006; Cavalier of the Order “For Service to the Homeland in the USSR Armed Forces” of the III degree, retired medical colonel Gabdulla Zaydanovich Baltynov, senior lecturer of the military department from 2015 to the present; the internationalist warrior Tynimbaev Kairat Iranovich, awarded the military medal "For Courage".

A moment of silence commemorated the fallen Afghan warriors, including the recently deceased, Colonel Kerimbaev Boris Tukenovich, the legendary Kara Major.

In turn, the internationalist warriors recalled the events of Afghanistan, the fighting.

In their honor, poems and songs were performed by the students of the department from the stage.

In addition to congratulations and warm words of gratitude, the invited veterans were awarded memorable gifts on behalf of the leadership of the institute and the military department.
