During the meeting, the responsible secretary of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan B. T. Tokezhanov, familiarized himself with the receiving and diagnostic unit, in which specially trained medical staff sorts and distributes patients in a certain area according to the triage system; with the unit of anesthesiology, resuscitation and intensive therapy, and operating, surgical and therapeutic units.

The equipment of the University Hospital of Karaganda State Medical University meets the national standards in the field of health, the amount of investments exceeds 500 million tenge. The latest equipment for radiation, endoscopic, laboratory diagnostics, endoscopic surgery, efferent therapy, resuscitation and transfusiology, such as the apparatus for carrying out the out-of-kidney blood purification procedures Diapact CRRT, designed for carrying out the procedures of continuous and intermittent dialysis and plasmapheresis, artificial respiration machines and video endoscopic systems, X-ray image intensifiers (EOC), surgical aspirators, oxygen concentrators, multifunctional beds with anti-bedsore mattresses, and more has been installed.

In addition, B.T. Tokezhanov was introduced to the Simulation Hall, equipped with an anatomical table, high-tech mannequins for intubation, and simulators for residents and interns which allow to gain the skills in performing surgical operations.

As part of the visit to the University clinic, the Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan B. T. Tokezhanov and the rector of the Ministry of Health of the KSMU, professor and Ph.D. R.S. Dosmagambetova, the Director of the University Hospital, Associate Professor and the Candidate of Medical Sciences G.T. Igimbaeva, the head of the Department of Surgical Diseases №3, Professor N.T. Abatov had a conversation during which they discussed the issues of upgrading the clinic with expensive, but necessary equipment – a CT device, the issues of the capacity of departments, the structure of hospital beds, and the main one – the issue of staffing and the planned schedule of training the residents in the clinic.
